Worst Case Scenario by T.J. Newman

Worst Case Scenario – T.J. Newman

When a pilot suffers a heart attack at 35,000 feet, a commercial airliner filled with passengers crashes into a nuclear power plant in the small town of Waketa, Minnesota, which becomes ground zero for a catastrophic national crisis with global implications.

The International Nuclear Event Scale tracks nuclear disasters. It has seven levels. Level 7 is a Major Accident, with only two on record: Fukushima and Chernobyl. There has never been a Level 8. Until now.

In this heart-stopping thriller, ordinary people—power plant employees, firefighters, teachers, families, neighbors, and friends— are thrust into an extraordinary situation as they face the ultimate test of their lives. It will take the combined courage, ingenuity, and determination of a brave few to save not only their community and loved ones, but the fate of humanity at large.

Review

Popcorn, Hollywood, AMERICA 🦅. Intense, suspenseful and action packed: T.J. Newman got you.

I had the privilege to listen to an early audiobook copy of Worst Case Scenario and now I totally feel like I shouldn’t have skipped Drowning!

The narrator was wonderful. Fully delivered the “disaster movie” experience and embodied the characters 100%, absolutely aiding to my delusion of casting Theo James as our hero. I believe this is one of those books where the audiobook elevates the written work and if you have the opportunity to read along with the audio, you should.

Having read Falling, I already knew to expect a full-on Liam Neeson movie read but my god, did this end up being emotional. I’m not a crying person, not at all, it’s actually really difficult for me to physically cry from pure raw emotions, but I almost did tear up near the end with this one. I really am not kidding.

Newman has mastered the craft of thrilling flow and page turning writing but with actual substance! Even though her books are definitely plot-driven, she still manages to write compelling characters without going very into depth on them, and those are the actual *stars* of the book. I wasn’t expecting to come out with my heart filled with these characters experience and life lessons, but here we are.

I really do NOT recommend missing this book.

4 / 5!
