The Vacation by John Marrs
How far would you run to escape your past?
Venice Beach, Los Angeles. A paradise on earth.

Review
My god! One of my FAVOURITE reads ever, I’ve read it twice and I’m pretty sure I’ll re-read it at least once more. One of the few (or one of two?) books I’ve actually re-read in my life.
Since having read The One, John Marrs became an staple on my shelves, he definitely has that it factor that makes me instantly HOOKED on anything he writes, but curiously enough, he manages to write so well in a variety of thriller sub-genres that he has distinct voices in each. The Stranger in Her House, The One, Keep it in the Family, and The Vacation are all so different from each other (but so, so good as books), it is as if Marrs created different versions of himself to write each different book. That is honestly, talent.
The book delivers on the vibey atmosphere, on greatly timed comedy, and on mystery. The characters are engaging and so very relatable, making the unfolding events hit you even more on the emotions.
The Vacation is a solid addition to Marrs’s impressive list of work. It might not be his most mind-bending thriller, but it’s thoroughly enjoyable. Fans of Marrs’s will find much to enjoy here, I promise, and if you’re looking for a chilling, fun and suspenseful escape, The Vacation is a great choice.

5 / 5!
